We are excited to share our summer programs! Registration opens on Monday, June 15th at 10:00 AM.  To sign up for events, please use the links below or the library’s calendar.  Let us know if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon!

Summer Reading Kickoff Program Wednesday, June 24th | 3 PM-6 PM

Start off summer at the library! Sign up for our summer reading and view raffle prizes. Event activities include a balloon twister, sand art, tote bag decorating, and lawn games. Pick out books to read and enter into your Reader Zone log.

Summer Reading chALLENGE: JUNE 22 – AUGUST 31

Log books from June 22nd – August 31st on Reader Zone account (*more info about Reader Zone coming soon*) Let’s keep our reading skills strong while school is out of session! Earn 1 raffle ticket per week for a chance to win a prize. Raffle winners will be announced in early September.

BABIES AND TODDLERS- ages 6 monthS to 4 years old

Music & Movement
Mondays at 10:30 AM (July 6th – August 10th)
Dance party at the library! Come ready to dance, wiggle, and make music with instruments! Ages 6 months – 3 1/2 years old. Caregiver participation is required. Registration required.

PlayDoh Playdate
Weekly on Tuesdays from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (months of July & August)
Join us for a free, unstructured playtime with Play-Doh! This hands-on activity encourages creativity, builds fine motor skills, and supports sensory exploration. Fun Play-Doh tools will be provided. Drop-in when your family is available!

Baby Storytime
Wednesdays at 12:30 PM (July 8th – August 12th)
This storytime is for the youngest library goers and their caregivers. Follow along to songs, fingerplays, and nursery rhymes for a good time! Newborns – 1 year old. Caregiver participation is required. Registration required.

Little People Storytime
Thursdays at 10:30 AM (July 9th – August 13th)
Join us for storybook read alouds and songs! Ages 6 months – 3 1/2 years old. Caregiver participation is required. Registration required.

Dinosaur Special Storytime
Thursday, August 20th at 10:30 AM
Let’s have a rawr-some time together with stories, songs, a craft! Caregiver participation is required. Registration required.

Lunch with A Librarian
Monday, August 24th at 11:30 AM
Join us for a picnic and enjoy a storytime while you eat. You supply lunch and a blanket, we bring the stories. Best for ages 2-5. Caregiver must attend. Caregiver participation is required. Registration required

Dream it, Draw it, Tell it! Summer Story Contest

Application and story submission deadline = Friday, August 21st
Calling all young storytellers ages 4-12! Create an original story using your imagination.
Your story can be written, illustrated or both! Drawings without words are welcome, and parents may help with spelling or writing, but the story ideas must come from the child.
All entries would be displayed in the library, and every participant will receive a special story award such as “Most Creative”, “Best Illustrations”, “Silliest Characters”…and more!

USA Party
Thursday, July 2nd at 3:00 PM
Let’s celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! The event will include patriotic themed stations, such as a craft and Bingo! RSVP recommended.

Lego Pals
Tuesdays from 1:30-3:30 PM (months of July & August)
Team up with a teen volunteer to build Lego challenges together. Each week will be a different topic. For ages 4 and up. Registration recommended. Drop-ins welcome when space allows.

Let’s Get Ready for Kindergarten
Wednesdays at 4:00 PM (month of July)
Prepare for kindergarten by practicing skills and meeting new classmates! For children entering kindergarten in September 2026 exclusively. Registration required.

Crafternoon
Stop into the library for an afternoon craft (4:00, 4:30 & 5:00 PM timeslots)! Registration recommended. Drop-ins welcome when space allows.

Pirate Puppet Show

Ahoy, maties! Pirate Bob has loads of treasure, and he wants to hide it away. But every time he
buries his bag of gold, somebody digs it up! Find out who is messing with Pirate Bob in the puppet show presented by Pink Flamingo Puppets. Registration required.

Lego Club
Tuesday, 6/16 at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM
Do you love to create with Legos? At each meeting, children meet to create and share their builds based on a theme. Legos are provided. Registration recommended. Drop-ins welcome when space allows.

STEM Project with Engineering Smiles
Wednesday, 6/17 at 4:00 PM
Let’s make a catapult! The STEM session will be led by Engineering Smiles Club, a student group through Bergen County Academies (BCA). Materials provided. Best suited for elementary and middle school students.

Crochet Club
Weekly on Mondays at 4:00 PM (6/1, 6/8, 6/15, 6/22, & 6/29)
Come and crochet! All skill levels are welcome. Mentors will be present to guide beginner crocheters. Supplies are provided. Feel free to bring your own materials! RSVP for email notifications. No registration necessary.

STEM Keva Club
Once a month on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM – June 23, July 21, & August 18
Do you love to build? If so, Keva Club is the program for you! Keva planks are blocks used for building complex structures. At each meeting, children meet to create and share their builds based on a theme. Materials are provided. Ages 7 and up. Registration recommended. Drop-ins welcome when space allows.

Comic Book Club
Every other Thursdays at 4 PM – June 25, July 9, July 23, Aug 6, & Aug 20
In Comic Book Club, participants will focus on a different aspect of comic book making each week, involving creating a storyboard for their comic prior to making a final version. At the end of club sessions, there will be a celebration party for the children that would like to share their works of art with others. RSVP recommended.

Jurassic Park Mini Garden
Monday, July 13th at 2:00 PM
Move over fairy gardens. We’re building our own Jurassic Park (mini-garden version)! Using plants and seedlings, you’ll create and take home a mini-Jurassic Park garden just big enough for a small plastic tiny dino to call home. Learn about the different dinosaur eras and which dinosaurs roamed the earth during each timeframe. Registration required.
